Scott E. Armstrong Designer and Craftsman.
My work is shaped by 35 years of artistic and creative learning, living and working. Growing up in northern Wyoming nurtured my independent spirit and love of natural materials. Getting my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from the Kansas City Art Institute taught me to direct my creativity, showed me the value of the decorative arts, and the beauty of modern design. Working eight years as a Senior Product Designer in the Furniture Industry gave me an education in production and a respect for traditional forms and ornamentation. For the past 15 years I have been running my own studio and drawing on this varied background to create graceful, animated, one of a kind, limited production, and commissioned pieces of Fine Cabinetry and Furniture. I use solid woods for strength and figured veneers for their rare beauty and ecological benefits then add a touch of inlay for fun.
